The Transition Initiatives for Stabilization Plus (TIS+) is a program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by AECOM International Development Inc.
The TIS+ program aims to promote peace and stability in Somalia by increasing the visibility of, and confidence in Government through improved service delivery, creating collaborative and strategic partnerships among government institutions, the private sector, civil society and communities.
The Technical Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of gender focused processes and activities within the program, with particular emphasis on women engagement, women empowerment and women leadership processes and activities.
General responsibilities
- Support the gender assessment process and the development of the TIS+ Gender
- Support communication strategies towards promoting gender sensitivity across the TIS+ program;
- Seek out partners that are women led and/or support women and human rights activities;
- Coordinate the identification of activities and policies that impact gender equity and women’s rights;
- In coordination with the other TIS+ Technical Coordinators and program staff, identify gender gaps and design and develop approaches and mechanisms to address those;
- Advise TIS+ team on potential areas of gender related interventions;
- Coordinating with the program staff to support women capacity building efforts;
- Required Experience:
- 10 years’ experience implementing gender programming.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience implementing in Somalia.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Fluent in written and spoken Somali.
