Technical Coordinator - Social Reconciliation

The Transition Initiatives for Stabilization Plus (TIS+) is a program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by AECOM International Development Inc. The TIS+ program aims to promote peace and stability in Somalia by increasing the visibility of, and confidence in Government through improved service delivery, creating collaborative and strategic partnerships among government institutions, the private sector, civil society and communities.The Technical Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of engagement with a wide range of citizens / community groups towards increasing community participation in peace building, social reconciliation and stabilization processes and activities. This position can be either full or part time.
The specific roles for the Coordinator include but are not limited to;
  • Support the design, development and revisions when needed, of tools, assessments and materials for social reconciliation.
  • Together with the program field teams, identify opportunities for quick impact activities that promote social reconciliation in preparation for or in association with community led stabilization processes and activities.
  • Coordinate with the other TIS+ TCs (equitable participation and partnerships) to identify activities to complement bridging plans and community consensus building activities.
Required Experience:
  • 10 years’ experience implementing community participation and social reconciliation related programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience implementing in Somalia.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Somali.
