Background: The International Rescue Committee has been working in Somalia since 2006, providing essential services to conflict and disaster affected communities. The IRC has been operational in Central Somalia (Mudug and Galgadud regions) and Mogadishu implementing interventions in the areas of livelihood, Governance, protection, GBV, WASH and health reaching out to more than 200,000 conflict and drought affected people.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Under the supervision of the Finance Controller, the Roving Finance Manager will be responsible for providing technical & Administrative support for finance and non-finance staff in the field offices in Somalia and CO in Nairobi Kenya. The scope of work for this position includes but not limited to the following:
- Fills in gaps in Finance department in the absence of any finance staff ( Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or Finance Manager position)
- The Roving Finance Manager provides accounting and financial reports as required for management.
- Conducts training for finance & non-Finance staff and provide technical support to program and logistics on IRC procedures and requirements, Donor rules and regulations.
- Assists with year-end documents and external audit preparations.
- Provides recommendation regarding systems and staffing in the field finance department.
- Prepare Trip report at the end of assignment.
- Must be flexible to travel.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance or CPA, Advanced Diploma in Accounting from recognized College/Institutions with a minimum of three (3) years of accounting and finance experience, Computer literate with significant experience in excel, accounting package knowledge (SUN system) will be an added advantage. The candidate should be mature, with stable personality and ability to maintain confidentiality,
