ACF – Action Contre la Faim – in Paris is looking for a consultant for a security assessment in Somalia.
Our activities in Somalia
Action Against Hunger is one of the major humanitarian actors in Somalia since May 1992. For the past 24 years, we have provided support in the fields of Nutrition, Health, Water & Sanitation, and Food Security & Livelihoods in at least six regions of Somalia. We are currently running humanitarian and resilience-building programmes in both South-Central and Northern regions of Somalia. ACF programmes aims at improving access to quality, holistic, integrated and sustainable basic services to crisis-affected population that includes local population, IDPs, and returnees in both rural and urban environment. ACF also work on building resilient communities through restoring and/or creating realistic livelihood opportunities.
In the implementation of its programmes, Action Against Hunger strives to ensure the safety of both the beneficiaries and the staff (locals and internationals) involved. This consultancy is commissioned to follow up the recommendations of the previous security assessment (February 2016) and assess the feasibility of repositioning of the coordination team (fully and/or partly) to Somalia.
Main objectives of the mission
  • Follow up the recommendations made after the last visit of the HQ Security Adviser in February 2016
  • Review operational security set up including :
  • Facilities location & protection
  • Local Movements / Access to project sites
  • Updated risk analysis considering the relocation and impact on national staffs
